Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of one of the largest top performing public Middle Schools in South Florida.
My students are innovative and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, active, and engaging projects. Using a variety of technology allows them to think outside the box to find solutions. They come to class each day ready to try new things and eager to learn. Science can be challenging to learn. With proper supplies and technology in the classroom I am able to engage students!
My Project
My students will learn all about how to read a nonfiction text and how to annotate. Using the requested supplies they will transform into scientific detectives armed with neon glasses, highlighters, and blacklight flashlights. They will break down the text looking for key ideas and details.
After reading the article and highlighting key ideas and details we will let the blacklights make all the details POP out at us!
Making reading and annotating scientific articles fun and engaging. These supplies can be used over and over with a variety of different articles as well as various activities within the classroom.
