My students believe in the motto, "We are (name of school), we are family!" Our elementary school is on the same campus as the middle and high schools in which we feed to. This close proximity supports the aforementioned motto. This family feel is supported by highly involved parents that want the best for their children. In turn, my students arrive at school eager to tackle the day's challenges.
My students deserve to be engaged with exciting lessons, and that is exactly what I strive to accomplish on a day to day basis.
I want my students to continue the excitement of their arrival with them leaving my class saying, "I had so much fun today." While they had fun, I know they learned through their fun!
My Project
Setting the stage to engage is a powerful movement in classrooms today. I will use these items to transform my room into a highly engaging setting. My students will walk into the room illuminated by the UV LED blacklight spotlights, blacklight LED strips, and fluorescent cloth tape eager to work! From the lime-green Carhartt shirt I wear to the BONAOK Wireless Bluetooth microphone they use to present their work they will not realize how much they are learning.
My students will use the sharpie highlighters to complete their cooperative assignments with the UV LED black lights illuminating the room making their work jump right of the page!
Ultimately they will "Glow what they know!"
As the students work under these exciting conditions they will earn glow bracelets (made from the Wausau Astrobrights color paper). These bracelets will be their I-Can statements indicating what they have learned.
