Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our student-athletes are proud of their school and their teams. Baseball is one of the programs at our school that many of the student-athletes on the team have never played before. They are learning from the ground up. Therefore, many of my athletes do not have the equipment needed for daily practice.

One of the things my team needs are baseball gloves.

Most of my student-athletes are from low-income families and asking them to purchase a baseball mitt is a huge ask, the families usually cannot spend money or more for this essential baseball tool. This project will help me outfit my students with one of the most important tools a baseball player needs, and hopefully encourage the boys to continue participating in this great American pastime as they continue in their school career at SSHS.
