In my classroom, learning is exciting and empowering. My desire is for all students to begin envisioning the type of adult that they want to become. This is done through my positive corrections, working with my students outside of the classroom, bringing in role-models, and collaborative serving.
Our school is of low socioeconomic status and highly diverse.
My students have in the past might have been labeled with "behavioral problems," but through my genuine interested in their stories and their dreams, they have unified to become ambassadors of the school. I teach through using the arts in my science classroom, praising my students for all their efforts at learning.
My Project
My students will wear these button downs to all service projects, ambassador events, college visits, and events surrounding the arts. The goal is that my students will learn what it means to be a leader through what they wear. I want them to learn that part of success is looking the part.
My students are very excited for these shirts.
They are anticipating how unified they will look. Many have said, "Man we are going to look so professional!" Along with these shirts, we have hand-made bow ties. The boys cannot wait for everyone to see "there look!"
