Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a middle school located in Oakland with a diversity of students. We have students from different parts of the world. Some of our students don't speak English and many of them come to us with high needs. They come to our school, because they are looking for better opportunities, knowing that school is a safe place. They come to this school because they want to be better human beings. Also, our reality is that many of our students haven't had the opportunity to use a computer before, and that's the reason why they need access to new tools. Chromebooks are going to help them to have an easier way to learn and explore things that the have never seen in their life
My Project
When students have the opportunity to have access to knowledge, through a Chromebook, it opens the possibility to explore new things in a classroom. Also it is very important that students who do not have a computer at home, learn how to use this tool.
Basically, in my classroom, students are going to use Chromebooks to work on a platform called Global Scholars.
This is a project that we are going to be working on from the first day of school until the end of the school year.
In this project, students are going to research information about many issues that are affecting us right now for example: global warming, healthy food, and also how to conserve water.
Those project are going to be upload to the platform and those could be seen from locally and globally students.
