My students need a copy of the book, "Refugee" for our Global Read Aloud unit.
This project expired on September 30, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach in an urban setting where many of my students struggle daily with things outside of their control. We are a Title 1 school and actively work with the community to try to give these children the best school year possible.
My goal as their middle school teacher is to provide them with experiences that they will never forget.
I want my classroom to be what they always remember as they grow up.
Although I cannot control what goes on in their home life, I CAN control what goes on in my classroom.
Each of my students need a copy of the book, "Refugee" for our Global Read Aloud unit. This will be the second time my class is able to participate in the Global Read Aloud and it is a MAGICAL experience.
Many of my students are never granted the opportunity to travel.
This unit allows us to Facetime with other school districts around the world who are reading the same book. Last year we were able to connect with schools in Canada and they LOVED IT. They were able to create lifelong friendships through using these amazing digital tools.
Students connect with the book on a much deeper level when they have their own copy. This would mean the world to them!
