My Students

I am teaching students in NAC and ESL grades 6, 7, and 8. These students just arrived from different countries such as Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. I teach at a Title 1 school where there are 98% Hispanic and less economically disadvantaged kids. My students are on free or reduced lunch. After Hurricane Harvey, I have been purchasing supplies for them. Any help would be of tremendous support, so students can move on and continue learning in order to become successful one day.

My Project

My students have not been to any places except within the city where they live. They are super excited when I show them videos of different places and countries. Imagine what this Google Exploration Kit can do to my students? They’ll be able to explore and tour around the world without leaving the comfort in our classroom! Their learning will not be only limited to theories, but it will be expanded globally. My philosophy of education is whatever they learn in class can be applied to their daily lives. With this, they will learn more and be more motivated in class through virtual experiences. Thus, getting them ready to face the real world!
