Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at our school excel in their desire for a higher and broader education. We indulge in all lessons put in front of us and we are always willing to do what we can to learn. Students at my school enjoy staying later just to be in a supporting environment and practice more.
Many students have started their own clubs to expand knowledge on different cultures and countries.
We now have a Muslim Student Association and African dance. Our Model U.N. club enjoys focusing on events from all different cultures. These changes made by us have greatly widened our social outreaches. We would love to learn more and make connections with people around the world.
My peers have opened up a lot more since coming to the school. We provide each other with a shoulder to lean on and are extremely outgoing. We like being in each other's company, learning from each other and working together. Many of us participate in volunteer hours; helping others is something we enjoy doing as a team.
My Project
We would like to provide our scholars with access to rich texts to expand their knowledge of cultures around the world. The titles we are requesting such at the Tale of Two Cities will allow students to travel through time and learn about content.
These books will provide another opportunity for students to be engaged in their Global History classroom.
It will serve as a reinforcement to our curriculum allowing students to make connections with the topics they are learning about.
We encourage our students to ask questions and make connections because not only will it help them to be successful in passing the state exam but also at becoming global citizens who are inquisitive and well-informed.
