Mrs. Williams from Bridgeport CT is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the supplies they need to be successful in social studies. The map will help students understand how to read a political map, cardinal and intermediate direction, symbols and legends, scale and distance.

My students live in a low-income neighborhood and often face living below the state's federal poverty level. Currently, my students come to school ready to learn and look forward to using new innovations inside the classroom. However, due to budget cuts, my students do not get the chance to use new innovations inside the classroom like the surrounding, suburban districts.
In spite of all of this, my students come to school ready to learn and defy the odds of becoming a statistic.
"We may not have resources, but we are resourceful" is 7th grades' mantra. However, sometimes it is difficult to get these resources on our own. It is a necessity for young learners to have basic supplies within the classroom in order to achieve greatness.
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The spring roller map will be attached to the board in the front of the classroom and used during our lessons on understanding parts of the map. Our current map is in shambles and desperately needs to be replaced. The paper, pencils and markers will be used by the 7th grade students during class, so that they can be creative with their assignments and projects.
