I teach at a public charter high school (9-12) situated in the delta of the Mississippi. Art is very important to our communities, not only music but also the visual arts, especially after Hurricane Katrina struck the city and left us mainly with art to express our feelings. Three arts credit are a graduation requirement, and the visual arts classes are always sought out.
One of our students may be the Picasso of the 21st century, but we will not know it until we get them the supplies that they need to express their talent.
All are creative, curious, enthusiastic and eager to produce beautiful art work.
Wait and see until you see beautiful pictures posted on DonorsChoose.org!
My Project
The Advanced Placement sculpture program requires students to complete 3-D projects, and clay is one of the main activities.
Learning to glaze and using the material is a crucial part of the process of learning about ceramic art and it also helps the pieces look more finished and look more professional.
The glaze eats up a big chunk of our limited budget which comes out of the students fees. Glaze does not leave any money on our budget if we do not have another source of funding.
We are eager to post pictures of our accomplishments to share with you, Donor! Thank you for your consideration of our request!
