My students are fabulous! I know all teachers must say this but I truly love their inquiry and passion for learning. The complex questions they ask me sometimes surprise me. I love when I can't answer specific questions and show them how we can research together. I learn from them every day.
I need help supporting GLAD!
I completed my GLAD training this year and love the strategies I have gained. GLAD really supports all learners, especially English Language Learners, and allows students to work together to accomplish goals. GLAD strategies support all young minds but especially aid students who are English language learners. GLAD uses visual aids that are created with the students. I would like to focus on how students identify with the world around them.
My students are so engaged when I use GLAD strategies and I know they are soaking up so much knowledge. Although all strategies are wonderful, there are supplies needed to implement them.
My Project
The Kids Value rug will give students a comfortable place to learn (I do not have a large rug in my room) and also provide a chance to learn about the United States. We can then connect their knowledge of the U.S. to the continents. The Write Wipe Magnetic Handwriting Paper, drawing paper, colored masking tape, and markers go to creating learning posters to display in the classroom.
I was able to use GLAD strategies last year and was amazed at the results.
These supplies don't fit into my yearly classroom budget and I need help purchasing them. Please support these hungry brains!
