This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
All of my students are from an impoverished, high-needs community. These students need lots of support to meet their educational goals. They need a variety of ways to learn with multiple exposures to the same materials.
My classroom consists of students that struggle with reading and writing in grades kindergarten through fifth.
My students have a thirst for knowledge and look forward to learning. They are given opportunities to work at their instructional level and are given extra support so they can make catch up growth.
My Project
Students will be able to see, touch, hear, and acquire words to help them navigate the world around of them. Students can use the house pet puzzle to hear the sounds that the animals make. We can talk about the differences and similarity of the animals. They can use the different types of animals to sort with the farm animals, the jungle animals, and the house pets.
The students will see and act out with the career dolls the jobs that they do.
This will help build vocabulary, understanding of types of jobs, and encourage students to learn collaboratively. Students will use the shapes and color toys to learn how colors and shapes can be found throughout the world.
