Help me give my students Hand2Mind Versa Tiles Math Classroom Set Grade 3 which will allow my students to individually stay engaged and learn how Math plays a part to make smart financial judgments in the world today.
My students are eager to learn and gain as much as they can from the world around them. These enthusiastic learners can see and learn about our world from a different perspective while working individually and yet parallel to many others from many cultures.
It is my goal to give my students opportunities to experience as many higher level learning moments as possible within our school and to allow them the opportunities to take their learning further by making connections with all they learn.
My school is a STEM certified school with the majority of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. About 37% of our students are ESOL (English as a Second Language) coming from many different countries where English in the home is a second language being learned here at school. They are curious and creative with a variety of learning abilities; from learning disabled, hearing impaired, speech disabilities, and below grade level to above grade level abilities including those in line for the Gifted and Talented programs.
My Project
The Hand2Mind Versa Tiles Classroom Kit will allow my students to engage in the "M" of STEAM. With the use of new mathematical knowledge, they will begin to reach their understanding of financial responsibilities as they are prepared to be career-ready and take a productive and confident approach to mathematics.
In today's world of school closures and parents seriously shopping with great purpose and care, these students will want to learn how to become financially literate making constructive decisions to assist them in being engaged and reflective as citizens in tomorrow's economy.
Learning Math skills that are easily able to be assessed by self checking will give them responsibility for their own inquiry and self evaluation as to the correctness or incorrectness of a solution.
