My Students

"Kids deserve the right to think that they can change the world" -Lois Lowry My 5th graders are a wonderful group of positive, helpful, and motivated learners! My goal with this project is to introduce the genre of high science fiction literature and to enhance their literary learning experience.

My students are conscientious learners and motivated readers.

Having taught many of them last school year as fourth graders, I am excited to reactivate their hunger for learning and desire to delve deeply into high-level literature. With your donation, you can help enrich their literacy experience on their way to becoming deep-thinking, self-motivated, life-long learners.

My Project

My students will use these books as we go on a reading journey deep into the "Utopian" world crafted so beautifully by Ms. Lowry. This project will focus on character development, voice, and author's purpose, all connected to the one central thematic question: Are all sacrifices justified when pursuing the perfect society?

Make a difference in the learning lives of 28 fabulous 5th graders by giving them the opportunity to explore a wonderful story with their very own hands-on copy of Lois Lowry's dark, visionary, and ultimately hopeful coming-of-age tale.

Thanks so much for your interest in my students and their learning!
