Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our middle school is located on the west side of Fresno. The students take part in the Engineering curriculum and Information Technology curriculum. We have overcome many challenges and stereotypes to continue to be successful in school. Many students help take care of younger siblings, work with family in the fields, but still show up to school every day ready to learn. During distance learning, students have been learning cyber robotics and working with a 3D drawing program called TinkerCAD. Many students do not have the proper equipment to do the tasks, but they continue to push forward despite the adversity of these challenging times. Our students are amazing with big dreams. They are proving that West Fresno is a great place to go to school.
My Project
These keyboards will help the students in 3D design and cyber robotics. Students will be able to work in small cohorts using the new computer keyboards to help with their projects when school returns. Students will be able to sign out keyboards for emergency use at home.
Students will be able to easily login into the CoderZ program to continue programming their robotics.
These beautiful keyboards will help elimate some of the challenges that students are facing when working with cyber robotics.
Our middle school continues to build its STEM program by offering students CTE courses which include Engineering and Information Technology. Continuing to allow students to use their creative mindset through design and technology will continue to inspire students of color to persue a career field in technology.
