Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to VPK. The place where you make friends, learn social skills, and take the first step into formal education. We learn from our mistakes and celebrate accomplishments. We work together and build a school family.
Many of our students have never been in school and have never interacted in a large group of friends.
Others are excelling at a faster pace and already recognize letters and their sounds. They are all unique and learn in vastly different ways. To make a classroom successful, you need the tools to give every child the opportunity to succeed.
My Project
My students love their dramatic play area. Although their imagination is running rampant with creative ways to play, they lack the tools to really let their imagination spark. With new kitchen toys, my students can experiment being a baker or a chef. With a vet center they can be a veterinarian and take care of animals.
Trying out these careers in a setting such as what we have in the classroom is what creates the doctors and scientists we have today.
With a table, my students will have the necessary room needed to play, by setting up a restaurant or vet clinic. I hope to help my students feel comfortable trying new things and learn about social interactions in this new and improved dramatic play center.
