This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a few months into their very first learning experience as kindergarteners. Starting this journey with online learning has been a bit of a challenge for them without much of a background. Most of them have entered this year with zero prior leaning. It is rare for them to have gone to pre-school given that they come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.

My Project

As kindergarteners are learning, it is extremely important for them to have immediate feed back. Having their very own whiteboard and marker to use while at home during distance learning is an amazing tool for this! As they are learning sounds, letters, and numbers, they can all write the letter for a sound or number and turn and show me.

For younger children white boards are a fun and engaging method of perfecting letter and number formation, as well as writing and reading basic words. Having the whiteboards and markers would greatly benefit my kiddos!
