My Students
I'm a teacher at a Title l, and low-performing school. Our small neighborhood school is family oriented. One hundred percent of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. We believe that all students can succeed.
When my smart, creative, and caring students step onto our campus you can tell they are willing to learn about the world around them.
It is a joy to come to school each day and have an opportunity to make an impression in their lives. They know I have high expectations of them. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. In spite of the many challenges they face, I make sure school is fun with creative and meaningful learning experiences. While many of my students face uncertainties as they leave school each day, they know that when they arrive, they are entering a safe, family-like classroom community that feels like a second home.
My Project
Our Beta Club needs items to contribute to the Helping Hand Pantry at our school to support the varied basic needs of our students. This project is one of our community service projects and we believe that help leads to hope. The pantry is a peer to peer humanitarian effort and will assist the students in learning first-hand the importance of giving back to those in need. Supporting our disadvantaged students by providing the basic needs will allow them to focus on their education.
They face dilemmas daily that include hunger, homelessness, anxiety, depression, grief, deployed parents, and much more.
Help us support our students by removing barriers that interfere with their education.
We are requesting your support to purchase non-perishable food items, personal care hygiene products, and school supplies to help stock the Helping Hand Pantry. The supplies will be placed in our Helping Hand Pantry and given to the students on an as-needed basis. The Beta Club students will also make cards with inspirational messages that will bring a smile to the faces of all who benefit from the pantry.
