Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fourth grade students are striving to be successful on the STAAR Test coming up this spring. As a teacher, I have been giving 100% effort daily to ensure that each of my students are ready for the writing and reading STAAR test. Through this process, the students have learned great strategies that involved making their writing pieces and reading passages colorful. The coloring up of their writing pieces helps them to make sure they have complete sentences, no mechanical mistakes, and have all the parts needed for an expository piece. The coloring up of the reading passages shows they proved each of their questions by going back and looking into the passage. These hard working students will be ready to ace the assessment!
My Project
My students use the clear sleeves and colored pencils daily to improve their reading and writing skills in order to be ready for the STAAR test this spring. The clear sleeves help my students to stay organized with the different writing pieces they produce. It keeps their brainstorming, graphic organizers, rough drafts, and published pieces in one place. The colored pencils will be used to revise and edit their writing pieces checking for ways to improve their writing. In reading, they will be used to prove their answers by coloring up their passage. These supplies will help my students be successful on their assessments!
