My Students

I teach 150 middle schoolers (7th and 8th graders) in my building per semester. They have chosen to take technology as an elective. This group includes a wide variety of students, from those identified as gifted and talented, to students identified as special education students who need support with an individual education plan. My experience with them has taught me that they think they are "too cool for school" and usually have to be coerced into learning. Once their interest is piqued, they never cease to amaze me with their ability to learn. They are digital natives and can usually teach me a thing or two.

My students want their education to be relevant and mirror real-life experiences.

I want to give them the opportunity to shine. I want to support all the needs of my students. Together, we are a most excellent team.

My Project

My technology classes are full of students who have a genuine interest in becoming proficient at coding. They come to me with various skill sets: some are brand new to coding while others are well on their way to becoming the next generation of programmers and creators.

We need some tools that will help my students develop their coding skills.

With these new Sphero Bolt robots, my students will have a fun way to explore and expand their abilities. Using these Sphero Bolts, my students will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills that will help them become expert coders.
