Do you remember your first year of school; the excitement you experienced greeting your fellow kindergarten classmates and sharing your experiences with them? I have the pleasure of teaching the greatest and youngest students in PA; however, we live in a large city, and attend school in a poorly funded school district.
My students are curious and love learning!
They are particularly interested in hands-on, collaborative, and critical thinking activities. My students come from incredibly loving and involved families, many of whom are immigrants, and do not fluently speak English. This creates various challenges that we must overcome together.
My Project
Every student in my class wants to sit in the front row on our carpet during instructional time. My students love to learn, and some of them have difficulty seeing that books or modeling examples because they aren't quite close enough.
"I can't see!" is something I hear often in my classroom.
We need a mobile media center to have a perfect place for our document camera. The document camera, that we are fortunate enough to already have, allows learning material to be projected onto the SMARTboard so every student can clearly see what we are working on.
We are also requesting Sequence and Write Story Tiles becasue one of the writing skill we are building is to write using sequence words. These tiles help students, especially students who are learning to speak English, to build stories to use to prompt their story writing.
