Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teacher Special Education Modified TEKS Instruction for 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts and Reading. The students work on grade level TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) at their own level to meet their needs and IEP goals as specified in a yearly ARD meeting
My students are 7th and 8th grade Special Education students.
Each student has some form of learning disability or is intellectually disabled. An Individualized Education Plan has been created for each student and resources they use to meet their goals can be found online.
My students received 15 Chromebooks for the classroom, so that they could utilize resources and apps that will help them to grow and learn just like the students in general education classrooms. It has been very difficult to use them on a regular basis because it is hard to keep all 15 in the room and charged. We do not have a way to really lock them up in the classroom, nor are we able to charge them all at one time. It would greatly benefit the education of my students by having daily access to the vast amounts of resources available through the internet.
