Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are a fun-loving, energetic bunch of middle school students who attend a magnet school for engineering and STEM in an urban area. Each day our students are involved in real-world problem solving, inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and collaboration. These students show exceptional determination to succeed. Watching them grow and seeing them excited to learn each day truly makes my job as a teacher so rewarding.
We strive for our students to receive a dynamic and unparalleled education to motivate future engineers, researchers, inventors, leaders, and entrepreneurs of the 21st century.
My Project
Four AeroGarden 45w LED Grow Light Panel will extend my students learning from growing plants from seeds indoors to be placed in their outdoor community garden. Due to severe weather, erratic temperatures, bug invasions, and the est animals that the outdoors offers, their project begins in the classroom growing plants from seeds. Our students want to use Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to assist them in discovering ways to grow plants indoors and transferring them to the outdoor garden. Providing them with the right equipment to discover, think critically and collaboratively is essential for their success and gives them opportunities to make a difference in their world!
