My students are always on the go! They love hands-on learning and learning how things work. The children love to build things and are constantly looking for materials to create with. We have begun to implement STEAM lessons centered around engineering as our school prepares for STEAM certification. We have in the moment learning throughout the day. Our school serves students with disabilities, gifted learners and students from military families. Most get their start to education in Pre-K and I want to make sure they get the best start possible!
My Project
With these building and art materials, my students will be able to create and engineer endless possibilities. Students will practie different art techniques and explore using different mediums and textures. The chalk markers, paint sticks and watercolors will allow students to see that art can be rich and vibrant and allow they to utilize materials other than crayons. We will use the marble runs with art and engineering. The Wikkistix will help us create models of various objects that we would like to build. We will use math and science to design, measure and construct. Lastly, the STEAM book will allow me to learn new ideas for lessons and my teachings. This will give my students even more opportunities to integrate STEAM education into our daily learning.
