Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The resource: I want to offer my students the chance to have a physical education class that actually gives them the chance to build skills and learn habits for healthy living. The school: I teach at Eliot School in Gilroy, a general ed. 4th grade class. My students come from many different backgrounds. The majority of them are English learners that have struggled since their earliest days in school. This year I want to be able to give them the fun and fresh air that they need to enjoy school and sit still for their academic pursuits. The resources: I'm in need of some basic recess equipment that will allow me to organize games and activities to give them a well-balanced physical education. The bottom line: I've learned in my first four months of teaching that if my kids don't have a chance to excercise their bodies, they don't have the energy or discipline to exercise their minds.
