Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Be the change you want to see in the world," Mahatma Gandhi said, and my students apply this quote in my classroom and dream big every day. However, a lot of my students need an extra push to believe that they can attend college.
My students attend a Title I school in a poverty stricken city in Florida.
A lot of my students feel like they will not be able to afford college or they feel like they are not good enough. Most of my students will be the first in their families to graduate from college. These students are very intelligent but need an extra push.
My Project
I want my students to read books that will help them pursue their college dreams. I am asking for books that will help my students craft a college admittance essay that will get them into their dream schools. My students need these books, paper and markers to be ready for the next steps to college essay writing.
