My Students

My students are 4th graders who receive special education services in reading, writing, and math. These are some of the most academically vulnerable kiddos during this unprecedented time of extended school closure. These students live in a rural community and many are from low income families.

I want to help those students who do not have internet access or a device such as a laptop or tablet.

To do this, I would like to provide high interest low readability books directly to students.

My Project

We are all experiencing the challenges of school closures and reaching our students. While many students are able to access online resources, I do have students can not and who are experiencing increased isolation.

I would like to provide these students with books selected especially for them.

I am trying to come up with an effective way to reach these kids and make them feel special. If a package arrives at their home for them, it could make a big impact on their social-emotional health; academic impact would be a nice side effect!
