I have a special needs classroom with 10 students with varying disabilities including physical, mental, behavioral, and intellectual. They are grades K-7, all in one classroom, and have individual needs and goals. Each student has a different ability level and is on a different grade level academically. They really need support to reach their goals with materials and programs. I have two students that need assistance moving and walking. A lot of them need one-on-one support to complete work and need hand-over-hand assistance to trace or cut.
My Project
I am asking for supplies I need in the classroom that support individualized learning and positive behavior. Toys, gummy bears, and a case to keep the iPad safe will give them materials they need to reinforce positive behavior. We have a student store they can buy toys from to reinforce behavior, teach daily living, and academic skills. I am also asking for ink and craft materials for my students to complete fine motor skills activities to reinforce our weekly theme. The ink is used to make individualized materials to help student's reach their goals. File folder activities are an example of academic materials we make. For my students who are learning pre-academic skills, I would like to try SNAP words to teach them elements of reading such as sight word recognition.
