Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a public charter school located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are designed to meet the needs of students with language-based learning differences, focusing primarily on students with dyslexia. We service students from over 26 different school districts, from varying backgrounds with 100% of our students receiving free lunch.
Our school and teachers employ a comprehensive, multi-sensory curriculum and instructional approach designed to support each student in reaching their learning potential.
Many of our students are experiencing success for the first time in their educational careers and are opening their hearts and minds to learning.
My Project
This cart will allow us to use technology in the classroom! We use our projector, speakers, doc cam, and other visual technologies on a daily basis. Not only will this make these teaching tools easier to utilize in the classroom, but they will have a designated place where students will not be tripping and/or kicking the cords, making our classroom a safer space.
As a school for children with dyslexia, we strive to make all of our lessons multi-sensory and engaging.
We use our projector to watch videos, lead students through digital interactive notebook lessons, and display morning work so that students can work independently.
