My students are amazing. Each and every one of them are scholars. They are socially conscious and academically inclined. They are readers, artists, scientists and engineers. My students attend the library not only for academic purposes, but also to participate in the many community outreach programs we offer. As a librarian, I am determined to create a welcoming environment for all students so they have to opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and grow as a community. We hope to increase our MakerSpace with your help!
My Project
I am asking for two types of materials: board games and makerspace supplies. The board games I am requesting are intended for the board game club that meets once a week in the lower library. Board games promotes higher order thinking skills, including identifying and solving problems, strategic moves and cooperative play. I also need supplies for the library's makerspace. The materials for the makerspace will be used for environmental science house construction, stop animation videos and U.S. History's memorial project.
The materials I am asking for are the most requested items from students and are needed for their success.
