Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each and everyday day I get to see 22 excited little bodies enter my classroom with anticipation and excitement of just being at school.
As their teacher in a low income/high poverty school, I don't want them to every lose out on a experience because of their socioeconomic status.
My students have great attendance, are hard working, motivated, energetic little people. I want to continuously keep them thinking, collaborating and having them learn by doing. They always say to me, "What are we learning next, Mrs. Schacher?" Their little faces are so eager to learn and it's my goal to keep their passion for learning going.
My Project
Kindergartner's have so much energy and need a break! Recess is their time to release pent up energy and help them to refocus when they get back into class. Our kids have a small play structure and a few tricycles to ride but there is definitely not enough activities to keep all our children active.
With the jump ropes, hoops, balls and other outdoor games, students will be not just playing but also learning hand eye coordination, large motor skills and teamwork which are all prerequisite skills needed in order to play team sports as they get older.
The best part is there will be tons of smiles on the playground from teachers and students!
