Our school is located in an urban setting and is very diverse. From ethnic to family to economic diversity, we celebrate everyone! Our school is an inclusive school which means every class has students with special needs. We teach a peaceful approach to learning together. I teach lovely little learners.
The first graders I teach are so full of love.
Working at our school for close to two decades has been a gift. Our school community is full of love and support.
While our classroom library is pretty amazing, we can always use new and wonderful books. We need a number of books on maps and geography to use during our mapping unit. We also need books from the series, "You Wouldn't Want to be...". In this series the reader gets to explore what it was like in different times, like medieval times, and pioneer days. Our library needs more books about fighting for equal rights. We can learn about what young people can do by reading Spike Lee's book called Giant Steps. We will use these books when we study how we can use our voices to effect change.
There are a variety of books we're asking for that will be added to our library and make it even more wonderful for the children to read together.
We’re asking also for some math wrap skill builders to use during centers. We are also in need of some basic skill building books to help us learn to read these books.
