This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
At our school, we believe in empowering our students to be their best selves. My first grade class consists of thirty students who's eagerness to learn is what motivates me to seek out the resources that will set them up for success in the new school year.
My goal is to provide my students with the resources they need for reading and writing workshop that will support the growth they have achieved so far in kindergarten.
In order to achieve this goal, I am hoping to provide a writing center and book baggies for my students.
With your help I can achieve this goal. Studies show that students must first be motivated and engaged before any meaningful learning can take place.The resources I am requesting will do both and also support my students in organizing their books so they come to reading workshop each day well prepared and ready to learn! With your generosity, my students will be able to maintain all the growth they've made so far last year.
My Project
Give a pen to a first grader and they will, "Do the Write Thing! From writing "All About Me " books to teaching "How To" and writing "Small Moment Narratives", these resources will support my students in their learning.
Your donation will ensure my students have a well stocked writing center filled with pens and baggies to organize their books for reading workshop and their take home books .
With these resources they will begin the new school year on the path to success and growing their brains in reading and writing. I can't wait to capture the looks on their faces!
