I am the proud teacher of 32 students and 10 students who I tutor. Since I am a new teacher, I need help making my classroom the best possible for my amazing students. Many of my students cannot bring in their own supplies for the classroom and we do not get a lot of money from the district to use towards our classrooms. Therefore, it is very challenging and expensive for me to provide everything I would like to on my own.
Many of my students are the most grateful I have ever met.
It is extremely heartwarming to see kids with so little, be grateful for so much. Sometimes I am the only hug my students get in the day and it melts my heart to see how happy they are to be at school each day.
Therefore, I would like to improve my classroom and make it the best I can in order to ensure the success of my students.
My Project
This project will make a huge impact on my students' learning. First, by having specific books to use during guided reading that are leveled, I can group my students and give them guided reading on interesting and new books that are on their individual levels. Second, by having 5 tablets in my classroom additional to the computers, I can have many more students integrate technology into their learning each day.
My students LOVE using technology in the classroom, so having these tablets would help my students to want to learn.
Also, my students love flexible seating and we have had to get rid of some of our fun seating since it was not classroom safe in regards to fire safety inspection. These beanbag seats would promote my students to want to read and they would really be motivated by them.
