Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students at my school come from an underprivileged neighborhood where one hundred percent of them receive free or reduced-price lunch. Violence and negligence are daily occurrences in our neighborhood, yet they come to school each day determined to succeed. My students do not have much, and our athletic programs have even less. My players come to practice every day and display resilience and an attitude to succeed. They inspire me each and every day to push them harder toward their dreams. Your help will make our players feel good and represent our school well when we travel to and compete against, the schools in our league!

My Project

Our girls' student-athletes are always busy participating in a variety of team sports at our school. That was before Covid-19. Right now, we are waiting for sports to return like everyone else, and they are quickly approaching! To encourage the girls' track team (Varsity) to stay in peak physical condition and to do their best, I would like for them to have access to a bigger variety of equipment.

A stationary bike would be a helpful piece of equipment to add to the exercise resources available to our students.

In an environment that isn't always nice to be outside to run or bike in, having an indoor bike would be an option that my student-athletes would really utilize and enjoy.
