Our students are 8th grade girls with diverse backgrounds who want to further explore what an education and career in STEM can offer. Our members are from within the highly gifted program offered at the middle school along with outside of the program in order to offer inspiration to all students who share a love for science.
We hope that this club inspires students to pursue knowledge in science and technology throughout the rest of their education, and to bridge the gender gap in these fields.
My Project
The Girls in Science and Technology club has met 8 times already, and each meeting is better than the last. We need your help to provide the best experience possible for our members!
With your donations, we will buy all of the necessary materials for our Spring meetings!
These include geology activities, make-your-own fossils, and even supplies for DNA analyses using advanced molecular techniques.
Seeing the member's faces when they complete an experiment, solve a mystery, or watch science happen in front of their eyes is well worth the planning and materials necessary to smoothly run Girls in Science and Technology.
