To say that my school is an all girls school and leave it at that would not do it justice. We are a school of diversity and adverse socioeconomic levels. We have students that are 5 years behind in reading and girls that are excelling past their grade level. We have the highest free and reduce lunch numbers in the district. 93% of our students receive these services. The staff at our school is committed and determined to make a change in these young ladies' lives. We are becoming a force in the district one year at a time.
My Project
Students are making apps through Project Lead the Way and some of the apps that they create do not work with the cheap tablets that we have. I want this Samsung Galaxy Tab with the protective case and screen so students can share, when they need to test a more complex app they create. The last thing I want to happen is to limit their potential. They use my phone now but I would really rather that not happen, but we do what we have to do as teachers to see our students succeed.
There is nothing more exciting then seeing our young ladies get excited about technology.
