My students had to endure last school year through hurricane Harvey, I cannot begin to imagine how much it affected some of them, however they showed up this year excited and eager to participate in school and even extracurricular activities. With that being said, we have a great gym and a great amount of students that tryout for basketball each year (we had 50 boys tryout, and 18 girls), however we have no game balls or any new ones at all. I have a basket full of old balls that repeatedly get flat over the course of a few days (at least I have an electric air pump :/) and im trying to get some new ones for the season! Furthermore, new basketballs are expensive (ranging from 40.00 to 55.00) Im setting a reachable goal and asking for 10 new ones. Please donate to a good cause and help the Boy's and Girl's basketball teams have a great year!
My Project
Donations to this project will make all the difference in the actual basketball game, if they are using smaller or cheap balls in practice, they will be "off" in the game, shooting a 28inch ball is much different than shooting a 24inch ball as you could imagine. The resources will help improve our practices as well as the game. As I said before, we have NO game balls and our practice balls are P.E. balls that are worn down(at least 80 kids in each P.E. class, and who knows how old the balls are).
