Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students exhibit eagerness to learn on a daily basis. Despite their economic backgrounds, they come to school with the expectation of receiving the best education.
The love and care they show towards one another brings a smile to my face daily.
I teach in an inclusion classroom where my students create a welcoming classroom environment and are excited to attend school. They lift one another up and treat each other like family. They know what it means to be a community.
My Project
Receiving the books requested will give my students a tangible gift that they can read to encourage them and help boost their elf-esteem. Being a teacher in an all-girls school, it is important that my students feel empowered.
Girl empowerment is important!
Reminding my students that they can do anything and be anything they want, although they are a female, is what I tell the often. Being a female should not stop them from achieving their goals and dreams.
At times, my students may not feel empowered. I would like for them to have the gift of an empowerment book so that anytime they do not feel their best, they can read a book to help lift their spirits.
