My Students

Gilbert Classical Academy houses honors level students utilizing Socratic instruction to prepare them for post secondary education at the university level.

GCA embodies a strong unity amongst students and the community.

All students are required to take AP level courses for their upper-class core subject areas. Students are also required to perform 80 hours of community service in order to graduate. Students are also required to write a 4000-Senior Thesis Project.

GCA currently has the reputation of both a 100% graduation and college placement rate.

Because of the success of our students GCA was ranked 10th Best Arizona High School and 70th in the Nation by U.S. News & World 2019 Report - Gold Medal. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos recognized GCA as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2018 based on overall academic excellence.

My contained classroom consists of special needs functional skills students.

My Project

I applied for the grant to give back to my school. I have cancer and have taken time off from teaching to take care of myself. During this time Gilbert Classical Academy has been wonderful supporting me during this journey. I am thrilled to give this grant to them.

Students will be able to take a break from the rigor of class for the day by attending either the Phoenix Zoo or Arizona Science Center.

This field trip is something that students look forward to all year long and I am thankful to help support their day away from school.
