I teach the best students! They are full of energy, motivation and enthusiasm. These Gifted students are curious about real life situations and want to learn how to apply real life concepts in the gifted classroom. My students never miss a beat. They come to class prepared and ready to work every day they enter my classroom. They are leaders! They take on leadership roles in and out of the classroom. These students are model students. I love the students I work with and they love me just as much. We have a bond that allows them to feel safe and welcome every day they enter my room.
We do live in a rural area where money is scarce especially for extra programs such as the one I teach, Gifted Education.
This school year I will doing a Physics unit with my gifted students focusing on simple machines in much of the unit. My students and I would love to have a resource such as these Simple Machine Lego kits to provide more of a hands-on learning experience. Having the opportunity to use the kits as part of the unit will give them concrete experiences to develop a better understanding how a simple machine works and the type of work it does.
My students work well in small and whole group situations BUT they love instances where they can break down into a small group and really dig deep into the concept and put their hands on the idea of whats being taught.
These specific LEGO Simple Machine kits and batteries would be the perfect learning device needed to make this more real world for my kiddos.
