Giant Rug for Giant Therapy Fun!

My students need a comfy floor area for therapy. The children I serve work and learn best through play on the floor. We need a carpet to do this!

My Students

I teach speech and language skills to developmentally delayed children ages 3 to 8 years (early childhood- 1st grade). Currently, our building serves ~155 students on speech IEPs. This year, myself and another speech pathologist were given the gift of a giant classroom as opposed to our tiny offices. We have so much room we can barely contain our enthusiasm!

We are working towards creating therapy stations and specific areas to help enhance learning through play.

There is so much fun to be had with this age group, and the most fun is had through play on the floor!

My Project

A vital part of my work is through interactive play therapy, which takes place mostly on the floor. Most of the students I serve at this age don't find paper pencil tasks easy or fun to do. So most of the time we are on the floor learning through kinesthetics and hands- on materials.

I desperately need a carpet to do this!

We were given a giant classroom this year, and we need a comfy floor space to have speech-language therapy on. Our current flooring is very old, yucky, and hard. We would love a soft, clean place to learn!
