I am a special education teacher that works within two classrooms, kindergarten and fourth grade. I get the best of both worlds!
Each and every one of the students I support has a creative mind and a warm heart.
Walking in to work every day knowing I'll receive AT LEAST 5 hugs and 1, "I love you," is why I wake up every morning.
My kindergarteners are a lively bunch that have a diverse set of learning needs. Within the classroom, I am able to support both those identified as having exceptional needs and those that do not. We work on social skills, beginning reading skills, number sense, and how to be part of a classroom. The school I work at has also adopted "Positivity Project" which only helps to develop the amazing small humans that will one day grow up to fuel our world. Our classroom is full of energy, kindness, and a love for learning.
My fourth graders may be older, but are still as curious and loving as ever. They are inquisitive about topics beyond the standards we teach and wholeheartedly appreciative for the knowledge, resources, and quality time we spend as part of their day.
My Project
Math is the favorite subject for many of our young students. They are excited to learn about numbers and how we use them everyday. I am hoping that this project will support our entire kindergarten team so that each class can support these early learners with hands-on experiences to fuel their love of learning for a lifetime!
In our inclusive classroom, we try to provide our students with as many hands-on experiences to allow them to take hold of their learning.
These magnetic tens frames will allow our students to manipulate the quantities we give them, or better yet, show us the combinations of numbers they know how to make and challenge their classmates and teachers!
