My students are enthusiastic learners who are eager to dive into technology to boost their learning. I want to help prepare them for the 21st century and ensure that they are college and career ready. Technology is the key!
My students are amazing kids who inspire me everyday!
They work hard and are committed to doing their best to learn everyday. The new Common Core standards require students to have a deeper depth of knowledge and technology can help them achieve that. I want to provide them the resources and experiences they need to be successful in school and beyond. Many of my students do not have access to technology. Over 50% receive some sort of public assistance. I do not want the lack of resources to hold my students back. It's amazing what kids can achieve when they have the resources to be successful!
My Project
As we are coming into the 21st century in our classroom, we are lucky enough to have a Chrome cart with 36 Chromebooks that we share with another classroom. We are currently sharing materials and they are getting a lot of wear and tear.
Students will have their own personal set of headphones and a mouse to plug into the Chromebooks to better navigate our online math curriculum and science activities that they are using to further enrich their learning experience.
It will also help with health and hygiene.
Students will also be able to read the class sets of The Great Horn Spoon and Esperanza Rising. These novels are wonderful high-interest books that students look forward to reading each school year.
