My students are phenomenal workers, and have a great passion for learning. They are some of the most compassionate students. They love to help each other, and are genuinely concerned with each other's well being. My students are in Kindergarten, and I want to set a good example to them of what school can, and should be... which is engaging and enriching. My students are from all different backgrounds, with different economic resources. Our school is in a middle class neighborhood, with our class being composed of Hispanic, African American, and Caucasian students.
The students in my classroom are from all different economic backgrounds.
Some of my students are from middle class families, while others depend on meals and supplies from the school to help their family. Some students have two parents that work with them daily, and others have one parent that is trying to make ends meet and working multiple jobs.
My Project
A document camera is something essential for teaching. Explaining how to do something, showing sight words, how to form letters and numbers, etc. These are all activities that are needed to be seen close up. It's hard for all 18 students to see the proper way to make a letter/number shape.
A document camera allows for me to teach a whole group lesson, with each student easily being able to see what is being taught.
Whether we are reviewing a worksheet, creating a craft, or learning how to write a letter every student has the ability to see close up and grasp the concept.
