I want to prepare my fifth-grade digital citizens for the future! Every year, my students begin school with more and more exposure to technology. I want to tap into this enthusiasm and experience by providing my students with Chromebooks for research and project-based learning.
I have 30 inquisitive and tech-savvy fifth graders.
They are itching to push their technology experience into the world of research, collaboration, project-based learning, and digital sharing with Chromebooks. Our school is large with over 750 students at an elementary school located in a Bay Area suburb. Many students are second generation immigrants and speak multiple languages. We are proud of our high test scores, but also focus on balancing academics with character development and life skills.
My Project
With the help of Chromebooks, my students will be able to demonstrate mastery and extension of science, math, and literacy concepts with project-based learning and individual application. Students can use the Chromebooks to research, write, collaborate, plan, and create videos, presentations, articles, essays, and more. The materials will allow students to develop and apply critical thinking and 21st-century learning skills. My fourth graders will be able to use the technology available on the Chromebooks to share their projects and connect with other learners around the world.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by giving my students the technology resources they need to meet Common Core Standards and plan, create, and share a variety of math, science, literacy, and social studies projects.
Donations will also allow my fifth graders to connect with new technology and gain experiences that will help them become the digital citizens and innovators of the future.
