My students need materials and storage to ensure they can have great centers next year. The craft keepers are for task cards for Phonics, Grammar, and Math.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in room 221 could not be more diverse. My students span a wide range of academic levels, ranging from a Pre-K to an 8th grade reading level. They come to me from all over the world, including places like South Sudan, Nigeria, Iran, Afghanistan, Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, and many others. There are 6 languages spoken in my classroom and many different ethnic backgrounds. Many of my students are regufees, but many have lived in PG County, MD their whole lives.
While my students' identities are each unique and beautiful, their love of learning, curiosity for tomorrow, and selfless spirit is what makes them such a wonderful class.
My students are always eager to learn more, to push themselves harder, and to grow their brains to be the best they can be. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going" describes each of my students and their phenomenal work ethic. They are always trying to find new ways to learn and give me just as many suggestions for my teaching as any administrator could. They are passionate about serving one another and cannot wait to find new ways to be a light in someone else's day.
My Project
As a first year teacher, centers are definitely what I have struggled with the most. After almost a full year of teaching, I have discovered which items I need in order to have the most successful and effective centers for my students.
Most of the big ticket items on my list are storage items, which my classroom desperately needs.
We don't have any centers storage, other than for my leveled readers. As a result, center materials are spread out, get lost, and have been a mess. The rolling drawers and color photo holders will help with this problem. We also need materials for centers that we did not have this past year such as enough magnetic letters for a work work center, white boards and markers for partner work/small group instruction, and sheet protectors for center games.
