Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom and students are in need of some STEM materials to help us get "into" our learning. We are trying to use the whole brain approach this year, but in order to do so, we need some fun, educational stuff.
With a hands-on approach and a little music, any lesson can become fun and successful!
We have many students coming to us from difficult households who just aren't motivated about learning and need the fun to be put back into school. They need a reason to show up every day.

My Project
These materials will be used to enhance lessons and bring a spark into the learning objective. These hands on, fun materials will be just what we need to engage learners and help them to WANT to learn and WANT to come to school every day. With the black lights, light sticks, and highlighters the students will become neon rock stars searching for clues throughout the text to become better readers and writers. With the Legos, they will work collaboratively to build ancient irrigation systems, mazes to challenge their peers, and be able to have in-depth discussions about approaches taken and how to work together successfully.
