Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

I teach twenty second grade students in the inner city of Indianapolis.
Every one of these students is special and unique in their own way. Most speak fluent Spanish and are learning the English language. Some come from homes where a grandparent is their primary caretaker. A couple of students belong to our nutrition club, a program where they are sent home with a backpack of food to help feed their families over the weekend. But while they have their own challenges, every single family sends their child to school prepared to learn every day. I take my job very serious and want nothing but the best for them. While I may have high expectations of behavior and student work, they all know I care about each one of them.
My Project
I am requesting one OtterBox for our new iPad Air 2. Since our iPad will be in use throughout the day, I want to be sure it is protected from bumps and falls. An OtterBox will provide the protection our iPad will need. I am also requesting three portable GPX CD players and Duracell AA batteries to go with them. The CD players will be used during our fluency rotation in reading. Currently, we have only one CD player and students are having to wait for other students to finish their assignments. By having three additional CD players, students will be able to complete their reading assignments much easier.
Technology in the classroom is very important to me.
