My students need four iPads to use during math and reading centers. During this time they will listen to books or play learning based games which will assist in their learning.
I teach at an amazing school in the Chicagoland area. For many of my students, they love to come to school and want to learn. Since starting 3rd grade, I have seen them mature and grow academically and even develop a love of learning!
I teach at a Title 1 school in a high poverty area where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students have been making great gains at school but are still behind academically. My goal every day is to remind my students that they are loved, cared for, intelligent and very capable!
My Project
These iPads will mostly be used during reading and math centers every day. Students will be able to use for a wide range of things. During math and reading centers they will use them for different computer based programs and they could also use them for scanning QR codes and researching topics. These will be used daily and with every subject in my room!
Technology will be used in nearly any career path my students will take later in life.
Therefore it is very important to me that I set my students up with as many technology opportunities as I can. I want my students to have the same opportunities as many students have around the country.
